Clouds
Panorama of a large storm cloud approaching from the north on April 28th. Rain and hail arrived minutes after this was taken.
Clouds
Clouds take on lots of different shapes as they appear and disappear. Cirrus clouds are like white paintbrush strokes, lenticular clouds smooth and mostly unmoving, and fields of cumulus clouds are bumpy and convoluted, like mountains of water in the sky.
Lightning
It rarely storms here, but it's very interesting when it does. Most pictures are captured at night to allow for exposed shots. This helps capture the instantaneous lightning flashes, in a similar way to meteors.
Rays
When clouds or mountains cast shadows across the sky, crepuscular and anticrepuscular rays are formed. They add a layer of depth and give a sense of the spherical geometry present whenever you look skyward.
