Meteors

Meteors and meteor showers are bits and pieces of comets, asteroids, and sometimes the other large celestial bodies around the Solar System. In a sense, meteors are physical messages from other places--a piece of what another world was like, crashing down to Earth.

Although most don't make it, they do make for a nice show every year.
